We had dinner here for the first time on a Wednesday night and it was great. The atmosphere is what you would expect in a Tavern or Pub in that it was casual and cozy. We ordered a bunch of apps and 2 different kinds of the roast beef sandwiches and they were all hot and delicious! Our waitress was attentive and friendly. The bar is a neat place for a drink with locals and the dining room was clean and seemed to be recently updated. They also had a larger room in the back, which was not yet open when we were there, but also seemed nice. We had quite a debate at our table about a pretzel bun v. the onion ciabatta bread, but I stand by my decision in getting the ciabatta! 😉 The apps pictured were the BBQ meatballs, poutine (tots instead of fries it usually comes with), and potato pancakes. The poutine was my favorite of the 3. I'd love to go back and try the chilli and meatloaf sandwich soon, but we were too full to get anything else this time!

Our server was friendly, kind and easy to talk with. The restaurant looks great and has three separate sections: the bar area, dining area, and what looks like a dining hall/party room. We ordered the Forest Ave roast beef sandwich and the fried shrimp appetizer with bang bang sauce. The shrimp had a nice crunch, and the bang bang sauce was good, but its flavor was a bit mild and plain; some garnish like chives can definitely elevate this appetizer further! Our sandwich unfortunately came without the bacon jam and maple bourbon, which meant it was just roast beef double dunked with Gruyère cheese. Unfortunately we didn't realize it until near the end, and although our waitress apologized and brought us a side of the bacon jam, by then we only had a quarter of it left which was a bummer. The roast beef was perfectly cooked and the gravy was rich and deliciously beefy, but the extra Au jus was a bit pricy for how little it was, where it came in the same small plastic sauce container instead of a small bowl/ceramic. I'm sure this doesn't happen often that half the sandwich ingredients were left out, so I guess we were just unlucky we didn't realize sooner, but it nonetheless detracted

First time eating here on New Year’s Day! Great Roast Beef Sandwich the meat was so tender and juicy. Disco tots were delicious as well and Irish Cider! 10 out 10!

The place is really cool exactly how I imagined a true American pub! 🍺 When I first walked in, the bartender and waitress thought I was picking up a to-go order 😂 but once I told them I was there to eat, the waitress immediately apologized and welcomed me to sit down. The service was just what I was hoping for she was super polite, but also friendly and down-to-earth, which I really liked. The food was amazing too that Portobello sandwich was on another level! This is now officially my favorite spot for lunch on Staten Island. Highly recommend this place to anyone who wants good food and a real pub vibe.

Brennan & Carr, I do believe you have finally met your match. New York City's finest and best Roast Beef Sandwich may be in Staten Island. What's the secret at the Point Tavern in Staten Island? They keep things simple! This review is based on my visit this past Saturday Evening - 21 June 2025. Bartender Mike is a true Mensch, if that's even possible, in a place like Staten Island, but he was truly a gem and kept the drinks flowing. This is truly a neighborhood watering hole that is frequented by many, including some friendly and beautiful teachers from the local school across the way. You are struck with an immediate vibe of friendliness and happiness, and visitors to the Point Tavern are truly treated like family. My great friend, "Uncle Anthony," and I enjoyed ourselves sitting and relaxing at the bar. There was a wide selection of draft beers on tap, and the mixed drinks were delicious. Confession: I made the "Shlep" to investigate this "Suspicious" Roast Beef Sandwich. My suspicions were confirmed—amazing, Juicy, Tender, and savory. Sandwiches are made to order and tailored to the customer's likely preferences. The kitchen got it right on the first shot and got me my "Kosher"
